This past week saw the 300th graduate of our Home Health Aide course step forward to receive their certificate of completion. The happy occasion took place in Canton, where for the past seven weeks, 28 men and women have studied hard to learn the skills to become Home Health Aides.
All 28 students passed their final exam, and on hand to pass out the certificates were Ronnie Millar, deputy director of the IIIC, and Eamon McGrath, interim director of the ICC.
The group then celebrated in style with a potluck dinner and some songs from home. Danielle Owen, IIIC’s director of Wellness and Education Services, was delighted with the successful students and expressed her appreciation to the wonderful nursing teachers Bridget, Maureen, Norah, and new team member Judy.
“Everyone has worked very hard and been totally dedicated over the past seven weeks,” Danielle said. “I want to say a special thank you to Eamon, Judy, Pat and all at the ICC in Canton. They were wonderful, welcoming hosts to our proud HHA graduates on Tuesday, and it was a great night.”
The IIIC looks forward to Boston’s HHA graduation event on November 17, along with nursing teachers Nora, Mary-Jo, Edel, Jennifer, and Justin. We are also planning our third annual Christmas party in Dorchester in December, so there’s much to celebrate and look forward to.
