For the past 15 years the Cape Cod Irish Village along with the IIIC have hosted the Taste of Ireland every February, but with the hazardous weather conditions, both thought the event would need to be canceled. The hotel, which is typically booked with people from all over New England for this event, had many cancellations from those too far away to make the trip. However,as the storm grew heavier, the Irish Village welcomed many Cape Cod residents who were dealing with power outages.
By Sunday morning, the Irish Village was booked full and many guests made their way to the Taste of Ireland in the hotel’s bar and restaurant area for an afternoon of fun. People enjoyed dancing, raffles, 50/50, silent auction and more importantly the delicious food provided by the local restaurants.
The IIIC would like to thank the following for their support in making last Sunday a day to remember: Cape Cod Irish Village, Jack Hynes and his wonderful staff; special guest, Boxer Danny O’Connor; The Cape Cod Irish American Club, Doyle’s Restaurant, Captain Parkers, The St. Patrick’s Day Parade, The Son’s of Erin and The Butcher Shop Market.
