On Saturday, the first Wider Horizons group of the year arrived in Boston, eager to start their six week program in the United States. The group is from Clanrye, based in Newry, and is led by returning supervisor Gary McLaughlin.
“I had the pleasure of meeting the group in Newry back in early February and I’m so excited to welcome them to Boston,” says Ann-Marie Byrne, Director of Learning Exchange Programs. After spending Sunday at their orientation at the IIIC, the group met their host families and settled into their temporary Boston homes.
The trainees will be working in local youth and community non-profit organizations. This is a great opportunity for them to get solid experience in addition to learning about the benefits of working for such organizations.
The IIIC warmly welcomes the Clanrye Wider Horizons group to Boston. Thanks to all of the host families and work placements for hosting the trainees during their stay.
