Solas Awards 2017

Solas Awards 2016

The Board of the Irish International Immigrant Center wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to those who attended the Solas Awards Celebration on December 1st, 2016. This year, we were pleased to gather with our friends and supporters to celebrate and honor the dedicated work of the Solas Award recipients: The Honorable Martin T. Meehan, President of the University of Massachusetts; Rev. Dr. Raymond Hammond, Founder and Pastor of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church; and Her Excellency Anne Anderson, The Republic of Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States.

IIIC wishes to extend a warm thank you to our Master of Ceremonies, Brian O’Donovan, and to our superb musical performers: Traditional Irish flutists, Jimmy and Seamus Noonan; Balafon players Balla and Sekou Kouyaté, and Afro-Celtic band Soulsha.

We want to acknowledge the generosity of our corporate and individual sponsors and supporters. Your commitment ensures we can continue to serve the immigrant community with a variety of professional services and care.

Finally, to our staff and volunteers – we are so grateful for your hard work. Not only did it make the Solas Awads such a success, but throughout the year, your efforts continue to move our mission forward. Thank you!

From Ronnie Millar, Executive Director

Solas Awards 2015

On behalf of the Board of the Irish International Immigrant Center, I wish to offer a big thank you to all of our friends and supporters who turned out Thursday evening, December 3rd, at the Seaport Hotel for our 2015 Solas Celebration.

Over four hundred guests joined us to honor the Solas Award recipients: Mayor Marty Walsh; State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry; James Rooney, President of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce; and Robert Coughlin, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council.

We are particularly grateful to our entertainment performers: Master of Ceremonies, Jimmy Tingle; Poet Jamele Adams; and the Celtic music band, “The Cat and the Moon”.

In order to provide our many immigrant services throughout the year to the community, we depend upon the generosity of our corporate and individual sponsors and supporters who make this commitment possible.

Finally, to our IIIC staff and volunteers who worked for almost a year in the planning and carrying out of this very successful celebration – our heartfelt thanks for a job well done!

From Ronnie Millar, Executive Director
