An exciting week at the IIIC

Before we head into the weekend, I am delighted to share some exciting news from the IIIC…

Welcome to Maren Coniglione!
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Deputy Director, Maren Coniglione!
Maren was previously the Executive Director of an educational nonprofit in Boston, where she focused on growth,

re-branding, and community building. She worked with immigrant and refugee communities while at the International Rescue Committee and has the strong leadership skills and experience to further the goals outlined in our strategic plan. Welcome to the IIIC community, Maren! We are wishing our former Deputy Director Janey Tallarida the very best of luck as she transitions to her next chapter.

Recognition from AILA

The IIIC has been selected by the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association as a recipient of their national and inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Recognition Award, which is bestowed on individuals or organizations that promote diversity and inclusion excellence. Director of Legal Services Tony Marino will receive the award on behalf of the IIIC in June, and we are grateful to AILA for this honor!

Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers Update

We participated in the CIIC’s national conference in DC this week, and met with the other 11 Irish immigration centers across the US to share best practices and plan for the year ahead. We also met with the Irish Ambassador Dan Mulhall and a delegation of immigrant stakeholders to share updates on our services and advocacy efforts. The CIIC collectively has a network of over 100,000 stakeholders, and it is great that the Irish government cares so deeply about the welfare of vulnerable Irish immigrants and supports our work. Ambassador Mulhall is speaking in Boston on May 7th, and details can be found here.

Warm regards,
P.S. The IIIC’s work is made possible by support from friends like you. Our 2019 Spring Appeal is underway and every gift makes a difference! Please consider a gift today.
